Beach 116: Stories from a Rockaway Street, is a new documentary film about the key commercial street on the NY Rockaway peninsula, perched between the Atlantic Ocean and Jamaica Bay. The film, directed by Lee Quinby, and co-produced by Daniel Scarpati, explores the two block long strip, and features interviews with restaurateurs, store owners, environmentalists, hometown locals and Manhattan transplants whose personal stories highlight the beauty of the beaches and bay while detailing economic, environmental, and health precarity to the street and those who count on it.
